Job Description About the Position: St Mary of the Expectation is seeking a passionate and capable individual to join the faith formation team as a Ministry Associate. This position will operate under the supervision and support of the Directors of Elementary, Youth, and Adult Ministry. This is a full-time weekday position that will require working a few evenings per week and occasionally weekend hours. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
Fall Responsibilities: • Coordinate Jr High Faith Formation • Coordinate Young Adult Group • Coordinate 6-week program for Adult Confirmation Formation • Assist with quarterly Family Fun Nights • Head a booth at the annual parish bazaar
Spring Responsibilities: • Coordinate Jr High Faith Formation • Coordinate Young Adult Group • Coordinate 8-week Jr. High and High School First Reconciliation/Communion Preparation • Coordinate VBS volunteers • Assist with quarterly Family Fun Nights
Summer Responsibilities: • Coordinate Jr High Summer Activities, Camp, and AYC • Assist with implementation of VBS • Coordinate Young Adult Group • Coordinate 5-week College-aged Bible Study • Coordinate 6-week program for Adult Confirmation Formation
Other Responsibilities: • To work closely with the entire Ministry staff in the development and execution of the vision and mission of St. Mary. • Sound doctrinal teaching of the Catholic Church • Learn and Implement Archdiocesan guidelines
Expected Qualifications: • Practicing Catholic in good standing with the Church • Degree or working towards a degree preferably in Theology, Catechetics, Youth Ministry or related field OR minimum of 2 years experience in ministry. • Strong oral and written communication skills and a strong understanding and ability to articulate Catholic teaching and catechetical method.
