School Nurse Villa Maria Academy Lower School, a Catholic, independent school sponsored by the Sisters, Servants of the Immaculate Heart of Mary seeks a caring, qualified, and mission-driven School Nurse to support the health and well-being of students in grades PreK-8. School Nurse plays a vital role in fostering a safe and healthy learning environment while promoting the physical, emotional, and spiritual development of each child.
Primary Responsibilities • Provide direct nursing care and first aid to students as needed. • Assess and respond to student illnesses and injuries during the school day. • Administer medications and treatments in accordance with physician orders, school and state policies. • Maintain accurate and confidential health records, including electronic health records in compliance with state regulations. • Monitor student immunization and health requirements. • Develop and implement individualized healthcare plans for students with chronic illnesses and other medical needs • Communicate effectively with parents, physicians, faculty, and administrators regarding student health concerns. • Coordinate with Thursday's Chester County Nurse health screenings, including vision, hearing, and other required assessments. • Support emergency preparedness planning and serve as a resource during health-related emergencies. • Promote wellness education and healthy practices throughout the school community. • Support faculty and staff with required protocols as requested.
Qualifications • Currently Registered Nurse (RN) license in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. • LPN acceptable based on relevant experience • Bachelor's degree in nursing preferred. • Current CPR/AED and First Aid certification. • Previous pediatric, school nursing, or community health experience preferred. • Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills. • Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise sound professional judgment. • Appreciation for and commitment to the mission and values of Catholic education.
