Full-time Position; Exempt Title: Religious Inclusive Student Education (RISE) Program Director Reports to: School Administration
Overview & Essential Duties The Religious Inclusive Student Education (RISE) Director mentors the paraeducator staff and manages daily program operations for Marquette's RISE program. This role ensures students receive appropriate academic and functional support within a respectful, inclusive learning environment, as the RISE program's mission is to provide children with special needs the opportunity for an inclusive Catholic education in their home parish school.
The position has a ministerial character that requires levels of virtue and decency reflecting conformity with Catholic teachings on faith and morality. In the same way, the person is required to observe diocesan and parochial norms and practices established to protect the integrity of children, youth, and people in vulnerable situations as well as promote human, spiritual, and moral development in the youth as envisioned by the teachings of the Catholic Church.
Job Responsibilities: Interview and hire paraeducators and teacher assistants with principal approval Oversee and coordinate the daily duties of paraeducators and teacher assistants Conduct annual evaluations of paraeducators and teacher assistants Pair students with paraeducators annually in consultation with Elementary and Middle School Resource Room leaders Assign and coordinate paraeducator support in collaboration with classroom teachers Manage substitute coverage for paraeducator absences Coordinate schedules and service locations for visiting therapists Oversee fundraising initiatives, grant proposals, and various scholarship opportunities RISE Board Attend monthly RISE Board meetings Communicate program information through written correspondence and presentations Represent and promote the program through public speaking opportunities
Instructional Support & Advocacy: Provide a respectful, positive, and encouraging learning environment Review psychoeducational evaluations with the classroom teacher, school psychologist, and parents Develop and monitor Individualized Learning Plans for students receiving paraeducator support Attend Student Success Team meetings Advocate for student success in academic, behavioral, and social areas Provide direct instructional support and targeted interventions as needed Assist students with physical and functional needs when necessary Collaborate with staff to implement modifications and accommodations based on student needs Meet with parents and teachers to review student progress and recommend support strategies Maintain open, professional, and effective communication with families, faculty, and staff
Education and Experience: Bachelor's degree in Education with current teaching certification; a degree in Special Education or a related field strongly preferred Minimum of five years working in a related field. Previous supervisory experience preferred.
