The Teacher-Minister is engaged to assist in fulfilling the religious educational ministry of the Parish Church. The Teacher-Minister provides instruction in assigned classes in a professional manner and helps create an environment conducive to the vibrant spiritual life and religious mission of the school community. The teacher services the school in an instructional capacity and performs the specific duties assigned by the principal of the school.
RESPONSIBILITIES: 1. Provides grade appropriate instructional program including: a. Lesson planning b. Classroom preparation c. Assessment of each student's performance. 2. Provides grade appropriate extended or enrichment opportunities. 3. Supervises students 4. Participates in faculty meetings, school committees, and in-services 5. Attends other school functions and activities as is necessary
QUALIFICATIONS: 1. Must have a basic understanding and acceptance of Catholic School philosophy, goals and objectives, and be an example of living the faith. 2. Must have necessary background and training in elementary/secondary education methods and subject areas. 3. Must have understanding of child development and skills necessary to relate to the students being taught. 4. Must have appropriate control and discipline techniques, which will enhance the learning environment. 5. Must work cooperatively with the school staff. 6. Must have the following education training and experience: a. minimum of a BA or BS in instructional area b. Successful experience in student teaching or classroom teaching c. Appropriate certification (or working towards it) d. Positive references and recommendations 7. Participation and updating of "Protecting God's Children" certification and other Archdiocesan employment requirements 8. Clear criminal background check
