Create a faith-filled, nurturing and academically enriching classroom for rigorous, developmentally appropriate formation in the Catholic faith instruction for students in sixth, seventh, and eighth grade at Saint Stephen Protomartyr School.
The School
With a 99 year tradition of warm community and excellent academics in a south city neighborhood, Saint Stephen Protomartyr gives children a great place to grow up, helps parents who are disciples raise disciples, and draws families to the good news of Jesus Christ. Our staff values respect, collaboration, and positive attitudes.
The Position
We are looking for a full-time classroom teacher who will take direct responsibility for the Catholic faith for our middle school, and who will collaborate with our middle school team in curriculum development. The ideal candidate would be a devout Catholic with some teaching experience, excitement about the Catholic faith, and a deep love for young children.
Duties and Compensation
Our school year runs from mid August to late May, with school classes occurring between 7:45 am and 3 pm. Teachers plan and deliver their lessons according to the school curriculum, foster positive behavior, assess student learning, and integrate Catholic teaching, Gospel values and prayer into their student's daily routines. Compensation is according to the elementary school teacher's schedule of the Archdiocese of St. Louis, with additional pay for more qualifications and more years of experience. The median salary for a classroom teacher at our school is $47,000.
Why should you apply?
You'll be part of a team working to teach children and make disciples, where leadership values collaboration and respectful interactions. Our teachers, staff, and administration and staff support one another. We have a long history of engaging, joyful worship at our all school Masses.
