The Parish Secretary Position at St. Mary Help of Christians is an important role that not only collaborates with the pastor and the parishioners, but they also work with many of the Diocesan offices to help ensure that the parish is in compliance with Diocesan directives.
Job duties include:
Ensuring that the weekly collection is accurate and depositing the collection at the bank
Balance Checkbooks monthly
Recording the contribution envelopes
Compiling and printing the bulletin
Paying monthly bills and filing bills
Collaborating with the pastor to ensure that church supplies (hosts, wine, candles) are ordered and stocked.
Ordering Office Supplies
Keeping the sacramental records up to date
Compiling the liturgy assignments
Scheduling Masses, both any particular events and assigning Mass Intentions to particular Masses.
Answering phone calls and returning messages
Schedule baptisms and weddings
Coordinating and scheduling the rental of the parish hall
Send Letters out to the Graduates for Graduation Mass
Send Letters out for the Mass of Remembrance
Order contribution envelopes and label and put out at the end of the year
