Job Summary for Maintenance Technician
The Sisters of St. Francis of Perpetual Adoration are seeking a Full-Time, Multi-Shift Maintenance Technician to serve at our Convent, which is home to about 60 sisters.
The ideal candidate is respectable, responsible, reliable, and exhibits mechanical aptitude. This candidate must be able to work as a team and be self-motivated.
Requirements:
• A valid driver's license • Mechanical aptitude and basic plumbing experience. • Ability and stamina to navigate multi-story buildings that cover a significant amount of square footage and property that spans over several acres • Effective problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to tasks • Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, to collaborate effectively with team members.
Job Description:
• Perform preventive, corrective, and condition-based maintenance • Respond to maintenance work orders, troubleshoot equipment failures, and complete repairs efficiently and accurately • Test, adjust, calibrate, and verify equipment performance to ensure optimal operation • Operate hand tools and diagnostic equipment to perform maintenance tasks • Follow all safety protocols including job hazard analysis, lockout/tagout procedures, and proper use of PPE • Collaborate effectively with operations, maintenance leadership, and cross-functional teams
Daily Activities:
• Conduct daily rounds, documenting temperatures, pressures, fluid levels, status of equipment, while looking for issues or an undesirable status • Preventative maintenance tasks • Turning on/off heating and cooling systems • Property Rounds - access control and visual inspections • Activities in the Maintenance Shop and Boiler House • Trash and Laundry Rounds • Grounds maintenance including snow removal in the winter • Other activities as assigned
The two required shifts are 11PM to 7AM and 7AM to 3:30PM and will be scheduled in a two-week swing shift format with at least 18 hours between shift changes. This employee will work five (5) 7AM to 3:30PM shifts the first week and one (1) 7AM to 3:30PM shift and four (4) 11PM to 7AM shifts the second week. Some holidays and every other weekend are required.
