The Digital Marketing & Web Specialist is responsible for leading all marketing, digital content creation, and online storefront management for the Flores Mariae Gift Shop. This role serves as a bridge between the Communications Department and the Gift Shop, working on-site within the Gift Shop to ensure that the online store, in-person retail environment, and the Shrine's brand and mission remain fully aligned.
This specialist creates social media posts, emails, product features, seasonal promotions, and blog content that elevate the Gift Shop's presence and increase sales. The specialist is also responsible for maintaining and updating the Flores Mariae website (Shopify) through strong web design fundamentals, ensuring that all products, content, and promotions are accurate, engaging, and visually consistent with the Shrine's standards.

RESPONSIBILITIES Marketing & Content Creation Develop and execute digital marketing campaigns across multiple platforms Present campaigns for approval Create and operate Flores Gift Shop social media accounts Maintain Flores Gift Shop Website and Google Profile Collect and create digital content: written content, photography, and video Collaborate with Communications on creative themes Ensure brand consistency in all messaging, imagery, and promotional materials. Implement and maintain E-Commerce best practices on the Flores site Manage product listings: descriptions, photos, pricing, and assigned collections Update site menu, seasonal banners, homepage graphics, and featured collections. Monitor website functionality Coordinate with Shopify Support, Shrine IT, or external web developers as needed. Implement discounts, coupon codes, promotions, and special POS functions.
CUSTOMER SUPPORT & OPERATIONS Respond to customer inquiries Assist staff with Shopify POS issues. Provide basic technology help to other Gift Shop staff. Collaborate with Gift Shop Manager on product management
QUALIFICATIONS Marketing education preferred. Marketing experience in content creation, digital storytelling, and promotional strategy. Excellent writing skills for web, social media, email marketing, and product descriptions. Experience with Shopify (required or willingness to learn quickly). Familiarity with UX, UI, and digital marketing practices Ability to take and edit product photography. Comfort with basic technology troubleshooting (printers, scanners, iPads). Knowledge of or ability to learn = Shopify and gift shop CRM Strong understanding of the Catholic faith devotion to Our Lady of Guadalupe is highly valued. Ability to interact warmly and professionally with pilgrims and customers. Valid driver's license and ability to lift, move, and carry inventory as needed.
WORKING CONDITIONS Work takes place primarily in the Flores Mariae Gift Shop, with occasional movement between retail, storage, and office spaces. Moderate lifting of inventory and daily use of stairs and elevator. Regular use of computers, cameras, POS systems, and mobile devices. Collaboration with Communications, Gift Shop, MCA, and Culina Mariana Cafe.
