    Description

    St. Charles Catholic Classical School in Spokane, WA, is seeking a joyful, faith-filled, and intellectually inspiring educator to teach Middle School Nature Studies.

    Position: Middle School Nature Studies Teacher Grades 6-8 (part-time)

    Position Overview:
    The Middle School Nature Studies Teacher leads students in a rich and integrated study of the natural world through the lens of a Catholic vision of reality. Rooted in the understanding that all reality is God's creation, the teacher guides students to behold the natural world not as meaningless matter, but as a rational, ordered, and meaningful whole that reflects the wisdom and generosity of its Creator.
    Duties & Essential Responsibilities
    Design and implement Nature Studies lessons aligned with the school's Catholic classical curriculum.
    Create a classroom environment characterized by order, joy, and intellectual seriousness.
    Communicate effectively with parents and school leadership.
    Collaborate with faculty to support the school's mission and Catholic identity.

    Qualifications:
    Bachelor's degree in science, natural philosophy, education, or related field
    Commitment to living and teaching in fidelity to the Catholic faith
    Strong understanding of Catholic theology and classical education
    Washington State Teaching Certificate preferred (or ability to obtain)
    Experience teaching middle school preferred
    Demonstrated love for the natural sciences, intellectual inquiry, and the formation of young minds and hearts

    Beginning August 24, 2026

    Compensation & Benefits
    Salary Range: $20,863-$36,548 (Salary dependent on applicant's skills and relevant experience, degrees and certifications.)
    Part-Time Benefits: Sick Leave, One Personal Day, Employee Paid Retirement Plan 403(b), & Employer Paid Retirement Plan 401(a) of 6% after one year of employment and 1,000 hours, and 21 years of age.

    *If you have additional qualifications in other subject areas, this could increase FTE with the possibility of a full-time position.
