St. Brendan Catholic School is seeking a compassionate, collaborative, and student centered Learning Support Specialist (25 Hours Per Week) to join our vibrant PK-8 community. This part time role plays a vital part in ensuring that every learner-regardless of background, learning style, or ability-has access to a high quality, inclusive, and faith centered Catholic education.

Position Overview The Learning Support Specialist provides academic, behavioral, and social emotional intervention through direct student support, coaching for teachers, and partnerships with families. This role champions the dignity of every learner and helps shape the school's vision for inclusion, differentiated instruction, and student success.
Key Responsibilities Student Support & Intervention
Provide individualized and small group instruction for students in grades K-8 Lead scheduled intervention classes Design and implement accommodations, modifications, and learning strategies Create and monitor data informed behavior support plans Use evidence based instructional practices to meet academic, behavioral, and SEL goals Support students in developing executive functioning, self advocacy, and social emotional skills Collaborate with evaluators, therapists, and the Student Support Team on assessment and student plans
Teacher Collaboration
Partner with teachers to implement differentiated instruction and UDL practices Model inclusive strategies and co teach when appropriate Assist with accessible assessment design Collaborate with the Archdiocese Diversified Learners Committee
Family Partnership
Build strong relationships with families Communicate student needs, progress, and strategies with clarity and compassion
Program Development
Contribute to the growth of the school's learning support and inclusion programs Maintain accurate and confidential documentation Provide or help coordinate staff professional development Support administrative compliance with relevant policies and best practices
Faith & Mission Alignment
Model Catholic values of dignity, compassion, justice, and respect Support students' spiritual development Actively contribute to the mission and Catholic identity of the school
Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Special Education, Education, or related field (Master's preferred) Valid teaching certificate Experience in inclusive education or specialized learning support Knowledge of MTSS, evidence based interventions, and assessment tools Strong communication, collaboration, and coaching skills Commitment to the mission and teachings of the Catholic Church
Compensation Salary Range: $35,000-$50,000 (based on experience, qualifications, market data, and internal equity) Benefits: This position is not benefits eligible
