Utilizing primarily digital means, the Creative Producer focuses largely on the creative and technical aspects of shooting and editing multimedia content, encompassing end-to-end management of the video production process for the Office of Communications.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES:
• Coordinate and execute use of an in-house multimedia studio. This includes producing videos using a green screen, multicamera recordings of interviews, audio podcasts, etc.
• Pitch story ideas and perform video and motion graphics editing.
• Combine traditional journalism and content writing with modern, interactive approaches (text, images, sound, videos and graphics) to tell an interesting story.
• Travel around diocese to cover noteworthy events, people and places.
• Write and revise scripts, story boards, and articles.
• Develop videos, photos, and other digital media to inspire, educate and inform our constituents.
• Create relevant content for social media platforms with engaging music, graphics, and subtitles.
• Process photos and write captions.
• Work with editors to make any necessary changes to stories in a timely manner.
• Maintain all video production equipment and catalogue previous footage.
• Assist the Creative Production Manager with creation and execution of an annual strategic plan for multimedia content creation.
QUALIFICATIONS:
• Knowledge/Skills: Team player who also has the ability to work independently and with self-motivation and creativity to find and complete assignments that are interesting and/or present different angles to inspirational, educational, and informative stories. Flexibility to respond to changing priorities. Strong command of the English language and the written word. Strong communication, interviewing, and social media management skills. Proficiency in use of a DSLR camera for photo and video composition. Expertise in Adobe Premiere, After Effects and/or Final Cut Pro. Knowledge of Tricaster software and hardware preferred. Proficiency in MS Word; working knowledge of desktop publishing preferred. Professional understanding of digital and social media platforms for the distribution of content. Basic knowledge of the Catholic Church, its beliefs and teachings is essential.
• Education Required: Bachelor's degree in Journalism, English, or Communications or equivalent degree and experience.
• Licenses/Certifications: Valid driver's license must be maintained at all times.
• Years and Types of Experience: 3 - 5 years in video or multimedia production or related experience.
