Saint Pius X Catholic School in Norfolk, Virginia is seeking an Assistant Principal as a critical member of the school's administrative team. With oversight from the Principal, the Assistant Principal has a shared leadership role in the administration of instructional design and delivery, school policies, special programs, and disciplinary actions. The Assistant Principal partners with and supports the Principal in the ongoing planning and administration of instructional delivery (including the implementation of Diocesan Educational Policies), enrichment, extra-curricular programs, communication, outreach to faculty, students, parents, and the broader Saint Pius X School and Church communities. The Assistant Principal assumes leadership in the absence of the Principal and strives to build upon our faith community with faculty, staff, students, pastor, parents and parishioners.
This position is regular full-time and a 12-month position with institutional holidays off. Normal days during the academic year are 7:30 am to 3:30 pm, though extended times may be needed.
The ideal candidate holds a Graduate degree in educational leadership or a related discipline; maintains or is eligible for Virginia endorsement in Education Administration and Supervisor; has six or more years of instructional experience, three or more years of school leadership experience (preferred), three or more years of experience in a JK-8 instructional or differentiated learning design experience; strong planning, organizational, and administrative skills to enable a thoughtful and measured approach to problem solving; ability to develop, communicate, and administer school policies and procedures; flexibility to adapt self and lead others through change; ability to provide leadership, development, and feedback to teachers and staff; strong communication and interpersonal skills; strong collaboration and teamwork; proficiency or working knowledge of Spanish is ideal, though not required.
