    Description

Angelus Academy is a small, faith-filled community of caring educators and supportive parents who are committed to forming the next generation of Catholic faithful through a liberal arts education in the classical tradition. Our small class sizes, unique Salvation History-based curriculum, and dedication to the Catholic liberal arts tradition foster a love of learning, the mastery of skills, and most importantly, a sense of God's love and His plans for each student. Our school year is enriched by many special events, traditions, local field trips, daily prayer, weekly Mass, and monthly Adoration in our school's chapel. Our faculty and staff share a love of learning and a desire to continue growing professionally and spiritually.

    Position Overview:
The Head of School is hired by the Angelus Academy Board of Trustees, which is responsible to the Women's Apostolate to Youth (WAY, the founding organization of Angelus Academy). The Head of School, working closely with the Director of School Mission, will embody, manifest, and advocate the mission, vision, and culture of the school, as articulated in Angelus Academy's mission statement. The Head of School will be tasked with establishing a rapport with the community, strengthening faculty culture and professional development, and advancing the mission of Catholic classical education.

    Key Responsibilities:
    - Joyfully nurture an atmosphere of Catholic classical education with a spirit of reverence, obedience, and charity throughout the school day with students, faculty, and staff.
    - Establish a rapport with students, parents, faculty, staff, and the WAY Chaplain that garners their trust and respect, building consensus and cooperation among the various constituencies of the school.
    - Ensure that the general policies of the Board and the Angelus Academy founding documents are understood and followed.
    - Oversee disciplinary policies and standards of conduct in keeping with the St. John Bosco Preventative Method.
    - Recruit, select, hire, train, supervise, and evaluate properly qualified persons to serve as members of the Angelus Academy faculty, staff, and administration, and prepare contracts for new hires and the renewal (or non-renewal) of at-will contracts.
    - Oversee and evaluate the work of all faculty and staff, conducting regular observations and evaluations.
    - Support development and implementation of a Catholic liberal arts curriculum and monitor grading, testing, and communication with parents.
    - Maintain the safe storage and integrity of all public and confidential school records.
    - Prepare for and conduct periodic program evaluations.
    - Serve as a member of the Board of Trustees and represent the Board in its relations with the faculty, staff, students, school families, and the patrons of the community.
    - Help plan and schedule the preparation of the annual budget that will permit the setting of the succeeding year's tuition.
    - Oversee all school purchasing, banking activities, and payroll.
    - Support development efforts by helping to cultivate and solicit major benefactors for the school as needed.
    - Ensure compliance with all laws and civil regulations and represent the school in its relations with state and federal agencies and with Diocesan, local, regional, state, and national educational organizations and accrediting agencies.

    Qualifications & Experience:
    - Fidelity to the Magisterium of the Catholic Church.
    - Master's degree in a relevant field (education, theology, philosophy, or related discipline) preferred.
    - Educational leadership experience, ideally in a classical Catholic school. Demonstrated ability to lead, mentor, and develop faculty; experience with professional development.
    - Experience in advancement, fundraising, or donor relations is strongly preferred.
