It is expected that a teacher ensures all Diocesan curriculum is taught, keep accurate records, evaluate students, communicate with administration and parents, maintain discipline, and create a positive learning environment.
Duties specific to a Preschool Lead Teacher are listed below: • Plan weekly lesson plans in detail using the Diocesan Early Childhood Curriculum as a guide. • Implement the daily classroom program while maintaining a positive learning environment. • Participate in and guide the play of preschool students during assigned times of supervision. • Provide students with instruction in the Catholic Faith. • Maintain a cooperative, working relationship with parents through open communication via newsletters, emails, phone calls, and meetings. • Assist with all preschool students' needs, including lunch, toileting, injuries, and illnesses. • Prepare and facilitate Parent-Teacher conferences for all classroom students. • Attend weekly faculty meetings, Diocesan in-service and other professional development days as required. • Accumulate and document 15 hours of continuing education per year according to state accreditation requirements. • Accumulate and document 5 hours of religious faith formation per year according to Diocesan requirements. • Receive CPR and First Aid training bi-annually. • Administer the Brigance Early Childhood Assessment to eligible preschool students.
Skills/Qualifications: • Committed to the Catholic faith and Christian living • Bachelor's degree in early childhood education or related field • Oklahoma State Department of Education certification in Early Childhood • Organizational Skills • Physical Stamina • Previous classroom experience is preferred
