Middle School Science Teacher Notre Dame Catholic School, New Hyde Park, New York
Notre Dame Catholic School is seeking a full-time middle school science teacher to join our faculty in January 2026.
The successful candidate for the Middle School Science Teacher position will be responsible for: - developing and delivering engaging, standards-based instruction in science which includes creative, rigorous, and age-appropriate lessons for 7th and 8th grade students (for the 2025-26 school year, the eighth grade students are following the NYS Regents curriculum for Earth and Space Science; the seventh grade is following a physical science curriculum). - using a variety of instructional strategies, including hands-on activities, inquiry-based learning, and technology integration. - fostering critical thinking, collaboration, and curiosity in content areas. - monitoring student progress and providing timely feedback through assessments, projects, and parent communication. - collaborating with fellow teachers and staff to contribute to school initiatives. - attending faculty meetings, in-service training, and professional development workshops. - maintaining clear and open communication with parents, guardians, and school leadership.
Qualifications: - Practicing Catholic; Must support and model the mission of Catholic education and participate actively in the school's Catholic community, including prayer, liturgies, and faith formation opportunities. - Bachelor's degree in Education, Science, or a related field (Master's preferred, NYS teaching credential preferred) - Strong classroom management and organizational skills.

Salary range is determined by the Diocese of Rockville Centre salary scale based on education and experience level.
