Job Description Divine Mercy Catholic Academy is looking for a Math and or Science teacher for Gr. 5 - 8 or (5/6, 7/8) We are a faith filled community with a family spirit. We are looking for a teacher who is a practicing Catholic and who can bring enthusiasm and creativity to the subjects and who can instill a sense of excitement for learning in the students. A teacher who can enrich each child's development by requiring academic excellence by providing opportunities that challenge students and recognize individual achievement. A teacher with experience with differentiated and center-based learning. The teacher will have a homeroom in which they will teach Religion, Math and or Science to Gr. 5 - 8 or 5/ 6, 7/8. Participation in school liturgies, prayer services, retreats and community events is expected, as well as, attendance at faculty meetings, professional development sessions and school events. Lesson planning should follow the New York State Standards and support Catholic school philosophy and values. The teacher should provide a firm but loving atmosphere which will encourage collaboration, respect and student engagement. School hours 7:30 am - 3:15 pm.
