Position Title: Director Centro de San Juan Diego in the Catholic Diocese of Lexington, KY FLSA: Full-Time/Exempt The Centro de San Juan Diego (CDSJD) is a 12,050 square foot building in the heart of a multi-cultural, largely Hispanic neighborhood, in Lexington. The mission of the CDSJD is seeking to put God's love into action for those who may struggle to gain access to the basic needs of life. CDSJD is a place where community volunteers reach out to others by providing, according to the teachings of the Catholic Church, social services, health services, educational classes, spiritual and catechetical offerings. The clientele is primarily Hispanic, but other immigrants and people in impoverished situations also receive assistance. The Director of the Center provides leadership, networks with multiple agencies and churches, ensures fiscal responsibility, and carries out and represents the Center in accordance with its values and mission. The Director is responsible for the management, facilitation, and operations of all programs and services provided by the organization. The Director will be a strategic thinker, innovative, relationship builder, and collaborative leader. The Director provides a welcoming environment while being attentive to the needs of the immigrant community. The following is a list of the primary responsibilities:
Fundraising Researching and facilitating eligible grants Overseeing fundraising events annually Networking with potential donors English as a Second Language (ESL) Classes Market classes Recruit ESL teachers & assistant teachers Monitor attendance Measure student progress Mental Health Services Market services Coordinate with Eastern Kentucky University's Clinical Psychology Faculty, Ph.D. candidates and other organizations providing bi-lingual counselors Interview clients requesting counseling Assign clients to therapists Report metrics such as hours of counseling and number of people impacted Medical Health Clinics Market clinics and services Coordinate with providers for primary health care Coordinate with providers for dental, Optometry, Dermatology, Podiatry, and Audiology services.
Food Distribution Recruit volunteers to assist in all food distribution activities Monitor program by tracking number of people impacted Administration Maintain insurances Maintain contracts and coordinate all facility maintenance Contract the use of CDSJD by other churches, agencies, and organizations Network with local churches, city government, local universities, and community organizations Critical skills / Qualifications: The ideal candidate will be a practicing Catholic in good standing, and, Have a minimum of two years of experience in a human services program; Have proven management experience, preferably with a non-profit; Have experience in leadership development, resource development, fundraising, internal/external relationships, and business administration; Be a consensus builder; Have excellent verbal and written communication skills; Be proficient in Spanish (verbal and written); Have a commitment to inclusion, diversity, and equity through a demonstrated leadership approach; Possess cultural competence to build relationships; Graduate degree in related field preferred Have a valid driver's license Application instructions: Interested applicants should forward their cover letter, resume, and three professional references by December 1st to the Chancellor of the Catholic Diocese of Lexington - Kirsten Thorstad - @[email protected].
