Our Lady of Hope Catholic Church in Potomac Falls, VA is seeking a full-time Business Manager. The Business Manager reports directly to the Pastor, and works closely with him as well as the School Principal and the Finance Council. This position requires a strong financial background, administrative leadership abilities, and a commitment to Gospel values and the Catholic Church's mission.
Key Responsibilities
Financial Management & Stewardship -Budgeting: Develop the annual operating budget for the parish (and school, if applicable) in collaboration with the Finance Council and Pastor. -Accounting: Maintain the general ledger, process accounts payable/receivable, and ensure accurate record-keeping in accordance with GAAP and diocesan policies. -Tuition Management: Processes tuition, financial aid, and school billing -Reporting: Prepare and present monthly/quarterly financial reports to the Finance Council, Pastor, and Diocese. -Payroll & Counting: Oversee payroll processing and supervise the counting and banking of weekly collections.
Administrative & Human Resources -HR Administration: Manage staff records, benefits administration, and ensure compliance with diocesan HR policies, including VIRTUS/safe environment requirements. Processes new parish and school employees.
Qualifications -Education: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration preferred. -Experience: 3-5 years of professional experience in financial management, accounting, and budgeting. -Skills: Proficiency in QuickBooks, Microsoft Excel, and other accounting/database software. -Values: A practicing Catholic in good standing, with an understanding of Church structure and a commitment to its mission. -Attributes: High level of confidentiality, strong organizational skills, and ability to work collaboratively with diverse groups.
