Saint Cyril of Alexandria Academy, opening Fall 2026, is seeking a full-time Art Teacher for the 2026-2027 school year. This is a unique opportunity to serve as part of the founding faculty of a new classical Catholic school in the Pittsburgh region.
Saint Cyril of Alexandria Academy is an independent Catholic school created and funded by a group of lay people. It is a financially independent, non-profit school governed by a board of directors and supported by benefactors and modest tuition. Saint Cyril of Alexandria Academy is the second school established by the Miraculous Medal Academies Foundation and is modeled after the first, South Hills Catholic Academy (SHCA).
The Academy is built on 3 pillars:
- Ensuring that a Catholic education is accessible to all children in the Pittsburgh region. - Preparing students for higher education through a curriculum based on traditional education. - Providing a rich spiritual formation with a vibrant sacramental and devotional life at the center of the school mission.
We are seeking an Art Teacher who can assist in bringing these three pillars to life at Saint Cyril of Alexandria Academy while working closely with the administration team to develop and implement the art curriculum across multiple grade levels. Our program emphasizes the study of sacred art and art history while helping students develop foundational artistic skills. The teacher will have the opportunity to help shape and refine the program based on their unique strengths while guiding students in the creation of beautiful works of art through a variety of techniques.
All faculty and staff members at Saint Cyril of Alexandria Academy play an important role in the intellectual, moral, and spiritual formation of students and are expected to support the Catholic mission of the school.
Interested candidates should send a resume and cover letter to Principal Joshua Godwin at [email protected].
Teaching contracts begin July 1, 2026. Teachers will report full-time on August 24, 2026.
