A typical day or two may involve collaborating with different department leads in a Team's meeting, drafting constituent emails, editing letters from another department, designing and posting updates to a website, and managing the deliverables of a small communication project. Some upcoming projects include film promotion, a capital campaign, social media advertising, and a brand refresh.
The use of technology to assist work is encouraged, but not at the expense of authentic human creativity or reason. Challenging aspects of the job include managing competing demands, waiting on content approvals from friars, working across time zones with other team members, and accurately capturing and emulating the "Dominican voice" for communications.
Province teams are often a mix of lay employees (remote and local) and friars working together to complete projects that help advance the mission of the Dominicans. Colleagues enjoy good working friendships with Christian charity and patience.
