The Roman Catholic Diocese of Portland has an immediate opening for Director of Human Resources position. This position provides all the Human Resource Administration and consulting for the Diocese. The successful candidate must have 5+ years of human resource generalized experience, including recruiting, hiring, orientation, employee relations, organization development and is responsible for ensuring compliance to all Employment Laws and Diocesan Policies. In addition, this position serves as the employee relations authority as well as the employee contact regarding all matters of employment. The position is located in Portland, Maine with 25% travel within the State required. This is an onsite position. Since this position works closely with parishes and diocesan staff the individual must be a practicing Catholic with knowledge of the Church's processes and structure. The HR Director must have exceptional communication skills, sensitivity for employees and a strong understanding of organizational dynamics. Experience in multi-location function will be helpful. SPHR/PHR or SHRM-SCP/CP certification preferred but not required.
