Position Summary: The Music Teacher will be responsible for delivering high-quality instruction to students in grades PreK through 8. This individual will provide engaging, challenging, and faith-centered lessons that not only strengthen students' music skills but also nurture their growth as thoughtful and compassionate individuals. The ideal candidate will have a strong Catholic identity, a deep understanding of music concepts, choir practices, and musical theater production.
Key Responsibilities: • Develop and deliver effective, faith-integrated lessons in General Music, Choir, and Musical Theater to students in grades Prek-8. • Create a positive, supportive, and inclusive classroom environment where all students are encouraged to explore their musical talents. • Design assessments, assignments, and activities to monitor and support student progress. • Utilize a variety of teaching strategies and technologies to address diverse learning styles and needs. • Assist in the production of Grandparents Day, Evening of the Arts, concerts, and one Musical Theater production annually. • Foster the spiritual growth of students by incorporating Catholic teachings and values into the curriculum. • Maintain open and effective communication with students, parents, and school staff. • Participate in faculty meetings, professional development, and school-wide events. • Uphold the mission and values of the Catholic faith in daily interactions and instruction. Qualifications: • Bachelor's degree in Music Education, or a related field (required). • Proven experience teaching music at the elementary school level and choir at the middle school level. • Strong Catholic identity and commitment to living out the values of the Catholic faith in the classroom. • Excellent classroom management skills and ability to maintain a positive learning environment. • Ability to integrate faith and academics effectively. • Strong communication, organizational, and collaboration skills. • A passion for teaching and a commitment to helping students reach their full potential, both academically and spiritually.
Preferred Qualifications: • Valid Tennessee Teaching License with endorsement in Music. • Familiarity with using technology in the classroom, including educational software and interactive learning tools.
