The Assistant Principal/Dean of Students will work in conjunction with the Principal to maintain a safe, positive environment for staff and students. This position requires someone that is knowledgeable about general school policy and practice as well as someone with a desire to understand the needs of the community Central Catholic serves. Primary responsibilities include but are not limited to:
ADMINISTRATIVE RESPONSIBILITIES Maintain student discipline and attendance by enforcing the school policies and carrying out the disciplinary policies of the school Supervise and monitor students Assist with supervising personnel Observe and evaluate staff Maintain confidentiality regarding school matters Support and assist with the responsibilities of the principal
COMMUNITY OF FAITH Support and implement the mission/philosophy of Catholic education and the school Gives evidence of lived Gospel values Participates in building faith community
INTERPERSONAL RELATIONSHIPS Works cooperatively with administration Works positively with colleagues, support staff, and parish staff Provides opportunities for positive reinforcement of the staff
QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor's degree or higher Master's degree in education administration is preferred Prior school administration experience is preferred Skill in job appropriate technology, critical thinking and planning and ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously Ability to build strong working relationships with parish priests, religious, parents, and students a must.
