St. Elizabeth Seton Catholic Church is looking for a creative and passionate individual who desires to use their videography, graphic arts, and editing skills to improve our parish marketing and communications and better engage our community with the Gospel message. This role will require a firm understanding of our Catholic mission of being and making disciples of Jesus Christ, as well as a thorough understanding of the Catholic faith.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Capture moments from the parish, our people, and our ministries using photography and videography. • Design and submit our weekly parish bulletin. • Develop and manage virtual communications, including event advertisements and regular email blasts to our parishioners. • Build a new/modified parish website that is compelling, informative, and engaging. • Create content for our bulletin and website that is engaging to all ages but especially youth, young adults, and young families. • Ensure digital content is technically effective, grammatically correct, and within our parish mission, vision, and brand framework. • Assist with fostering new and existing relationships with donors. • Assess organization for communication gaps and areas of improvement. • To achieve communication objectives that entail the full scope of activity at St. Elizabeth Seton, it will be important for the Director to have strong relational connections with the volunteer ministry leads and parish staff, especially key leaders in each ministry. It is important that this person has flexibility to attend events at night and on the weekends (liturgies, fundraising or social events, etc.).
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
• Practicing Catholic who is mission-oriented, seeking to foster encounters between our parishioners and Jesus Christ through media. • Desire to deepen own spiritual life and enter into the life of the parish. • Desire to assist the pastor and staff orient the parish culture towards missionary discipleship through high-quality, beautiful branding & communications. • Proficiency or at least strong familiarity with web design and mainstream graphic design software, primarily Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, Premier Pro, and InDesign) and Canva. • Experience in photography/videography. • Proficiency in managing social media accounts; familiar and engaged with the latest social media and their trends (Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram). • Proficiency with Microsoft Office. • Engaging, joyful, and energetic personality. • Strong attention to detail and designs. • Enthusiastic team player with the ability to work independently. • Excellent organizational skills and ability to multi-task. • Creative thinker with an entrepreneurial mindset. • Outstanding oral communication skills. • Succinct and compelling writer.
STRONGLY PREFFERED QUALIFICATIONS:
• Undergraduate degree in marketing, graphic arts, communications, or a related field. • Multiple years' experience in marketing, public relations, graphic design, or a related field. • Experience developing and maintaining brand standards. • Familiarity with contemporary Catholic media - books, speakers, videos, podcasts, etc.
