Camp Contigo is a 7-week summer day camp for 1st-10th graders to grow together through fun, engaging, and authentically Catholic activities. We are located in the Bailey's Crossroads/Seven corners area, where drug-use and gang involvement are a constant threat. With programs ranging from outdoor adventures to painting to theatre to sports, we keep at-risk kids off the streets and out of the confines of apartment life, opening up a world of hope and opportunity.
We are seeking responsible, fun, and faithful missionary volunteers who are at least one year out of high school to lead, supervise, and support campers throughout the summer.
Duties will include leading children and teens, overseeing and planning camp activities, and learning and implementing emergency protocol to ensure the protection of campers. Required training will be provided.
A weekly stipend is available.
Why volunteer?
Christ-centered Service Camp Contigo is centered on Christ. To support our volunteers' growth in relationship with Christ, we encourage frequent reception of the sacraments, daily prayer, and spiritual formation.
Outside of camp hours, there is an opportunity for Mass daily at 7am before camp and 7pm (in Spanish) after camp.
Professional Development In addition to providing training for the required certifications, we provide professional training and mentorship to our volunteers, especially to those seeking careers in youth development. There are also opportunities for part-time employment during the academic year.
Great Location Take weekends to rest and recreate! We are a stone's throw away from our nation's capital, filled with museums, shows, shrines, and other attractions.
Take a pilgrimage to the many shrines. The Basilica of the National Shrine of the Immaculate Conception, the Saint John Paul II National Shrine, and the Franciscan Monastery are among the numerous prayerful locations to reset and spend time with our Lord.
