DESCRIPTION SUMMARY: The Academic Dean / Theology Teacher serves as a key instructional leader who supports the school's mission of forming students in mind, heart, and soul according to the perennial teachings of the Catholic Church. This role combines administrative oversight of academic programs with direct classroom instruction in Catholic Theology that is grounded in Sacred Scripture, Sacred Tradition, and the Magisterium of the Catholic Church.
RESPONSIBILITIES: Overseeing the development, coordination, and evaluation of the school's academic curriculum to ensure rigor, fidelity to Catholic teaching, and alignment with classical or liberal-arts-based educational principles.
Providing leadership, mentorship, and support to both students and faculty, while fostering a culture of professionalism, virtue, and intellectual formation.
Teaching four Theology courses that reflect the fullness of the Catholic faith, integrating the Catechism, magisterial documents, Church history, and spiritual formation.
Ensuring discipline and academic standards are upheld in accordance with Catholic moral teaching and the school's traditional ethos.
Collaborating with the Principal on student assessment, faculty development, and academic policies.
Assisting with liturgical life, spiritual retreats and related activities, and promoting a campus culture rooted in prayer and sacramental participation.
QUALIFICATIONS: Practicing Catholic in full communion with the Church, with an unwavering commitment to its moral and doctrinal teachings.
Bachelor's degree in Catholic Theology (Master's degree or higher in Theology preferred).
Demonstrated knowledge of Catholic doctrine, classical education principles, and the Church's intellectual tradition.
Prior teaching and administrative or leadership experience in a Catholic school strongly preferred.
Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
