Position Overview
John Paul II Catholic School is seeking a passionate and highly qualified Advanced Mathematics Teacher to teach upper-level high school courses, including Calculus and Statistics. The ideal candidate will inspire students to think critically, solve complex problems, and appreciate the beauty and order of mathematics, all within the context of a Catholic educational environment.
Primary Responsibilities
Teach advanced high school mathematics courses, including AP Calculus and Statistics Develop and implement engaging, rigorous lesson plans aligned with college-preparatory and AP standards Foster a classroom environment that promotes academic excellence, curiosity, and respect Utilize data to assess student progress and provide timely feedback Collaborate with colleagues to strengthen the math curriculum and support interdisciplinary learning Integrate technology and innovative instructional practices into the classroom Serve as a mentor to students, supporting both their academic and personal growth Uphold and model the mission and values of Catholic education Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Mathematics or a related field (Master's degree preferred) Experience teaching high school mathematics, with demonstrated success in Calculus and/or Statistics Ability to teach AP-level coursework preferred Strong classroom management and communication skills Commitment to fostering a positive and inclusive learning environment Willingness to support the mission of a Catholic school (practicing Catholic preferred, but not required) Why Join JPII?
