Villa Maria Academy Lower School (an all girls Catholic school) is searching for an enthusiastic social studies teacher for our middle school students. The instructor would have a 6th grade homeroom and grade partner, work closely with middle school team in scheduling and departmental classes. The curriculum includes: 6th grade - geography and history of the Eastern Hemisphere, development of cultures, civilizations, and empires, etc. Students also complete a Heritage Day project in the spring which celebrated their individual nationalities and traditions. 7th grade - a thematical, historical study of the discovery of America to the American Civil War 8th grade - thematic, historical study of the development of America with a special focus on the events and people from the Civil War through the 19th and 20th centuries through various primary and secondary sources.
