Christ the King Church is seeking a part-time Maintenance Technician to oversee the upkeep, repairs, and preventative maintenance of parish buildings and equipment. This role supports the day-to-day operations of our facilities and ensures a safe, well-functioning, and welcoming environment for parishioners, staff, and visitors.
Key Responsibilities Include:
• Perform routine maintenance and emergency repairs across parish buildings • Prioritize and complete work orders submitted via email • Communicate daily updates to the Director of Facilities • Maintain all building systems and schedule preventative maintenance • Assist janitorial staff on an as-needed basis • Set up and clean up for parish events (e.g., Christmas/Easter decor, social gatherings) • Conduct regular walk-throughs to identify and address facility needs • Collaborate with vendors for HVAC seasonal programming and maintenance • Inspect and maintain boiler and furnace systems during winter months • Perform minor plumbing, electrical, and mechanical repairs • Maintain proper inventory of maintenance supplies (excluding janitorial stock) • Clear standing water and debris from roofs, stairwells, and drains • Replace light fixtures, bulbs, and ballasts as needed • Monitor and maintain mechanicals in the convent and related structures
Qualifications:
• Relevant maintenance or trade experience preferred • Ability to perform minor plumbing, HVAC, electrical, and carpentry work • Strong communication and organizational skills • Self-motivated and dependable with a proactive approach to problem-solving • Familiarity with Catholic parish life and willingness to support its mission
