The Financial Secretary and Shrine Manager coordinates and facilitates the financial transactions and records of the Dominican friars at St. Patrick Priory in downtown Columbus-which will occupy the majority of the weekly hours-and also manages the affairs of the Saint Margaret of Castello Guild and Shrine which is also based at St. Patrick Priory. The hours per week are variable but currently averages about 10 hours a week. A certain amount of work can be done remotely, but the position does require coming into the office on a regular basis for at least some hours.
The Dominican Friars are a worldwide religious order founded by St. Dominic de Guzman in 1216 for the sake of preaching for the salvation of souls. The Dominican Friars at St. Patrick Priory serve St. Patrick Parish as well as other apostolates in the Columbus Catholic Diocese and the larger Church. While the Financial Secretary and Shrine Manager's office is located at St. Patrick Parish, this position is distinct from St. Patrick Parish operations, providing bookkeeping services for the Dominican Friars.
This job description reflects the assignment of essential job responsibilities; it does not prescribe or restrict the tasks that may be assigned. All the duties and standards within this job description will be performed according to the established Priory policies, procedures and guidelines.
