The Catholic Parishes and Cemeteries of Sandusky, Ohio (Saint Mary's, Holy Angels and Saints Peter and Paul located on the southern shores of Lake Erie) are looking for a highly motivated and detail-oriented individual to join our team as the Business and Operations Manager, effective July 1, 2025.
This full-time position will work closely with the Pastor to oversee all financial processes and information connected to the regular and extraordinary transaction of business between parishes and cemeteries with donors, vendors and banking institutions. Also included is responsibility for higher-level accounting and reporting functions as well as a directive role in bookkeeping, communications, technology, administrative services, maintenance and coordinating events.
Specific tasks will include, but are not limited to:
Sound financial management, including development and monitoring of budgets, reporting, risk management and fundraising oversight.
Processing payroll and all human resource functions including employee benefit programs.
Policy and process development, auditing and assuring conformity with diocesan standards.
Serving as a liaison to the Diocese of Toledo on business matters.
Oversight of capital projects, contracts and parish/cemetery personnel.
The ideal candidate will have a solid, professional grasp of financial accounting practices and human resource processes, including oversight of personnel. A bachelor's degree in business, finance, accounting or related business discipline, detailed knowledge of QuickBooks and 4+ years of experience is needed. Familiarity with business practices in a Catholic Church setting is definitely a plus. Superior interpersonal communication skills, accuracy, efficiency, thoroughness, professional demeanor and timeliness in service to the mission of the Church and the good of the Catholic Community are vital to successfully obtaining this position.
