Key Responsibilities:
Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging lessons tailored to a variety of student learning needs. Develop and implement assessment methods to monitor and evaluate student progress. Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment which encourages active learning. Collaborate with colleagues to enhance interdisciplinary teaching strategies. Communicate effectively with students, parents, and staff. Stay current with educational trends and integrate innovative teaching practices.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree or higher in the relevant subject area or education. Valid teaching certification/licensure in North Carolina. Proven experience teaching ASL in secondary schools (9-12 grade). Proficiency in subject-specific pedagogy. Excellent communication and organizational skills. Passion for education and a commitment to student success. Demonstrate proficiency with new technologies and a willingness to integrate technology into classroom lessons. Able to work collaboratively with the other members of the two departments and the whole school in academics, extracurricular activities, and furthering the mission of the school. To plan, organize and implement an appropriate instructional program in the secondary learning environment that educate identified and eligible students with disabilities according to their present levels of academic achievement, functional performance and to create a classroom environment that is conducive to learning and appropriate to the maturity and interest of students Fluent in American Sign Language
