ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The primary role of this position is to assist the Director of Religious Education, Children's Faith formation coordinator, and Middle School Coordinator in organizing and administering our faith formation programs for the growing Hispanic community. This includes Children's Faith Formation, Middle School Faith Formation, and Youth Faith Formation programs and High School Step-up-in Faith.. Specific responsibilities include:
FF Registration
• Organize registrations and establish classes, catechists, classroom schedules with Faith Formation team.
• Keep up with catechists for "Safe-Environment" training (CMG Connect)
• Put together a contact list for each class that includes names, phone numbers and emails to use for communication throughout the year.
• Assist with planning of liturgies in which students will receive sacraments.
• Assist in organizing and filing catechist and volunteer paperwork.
General Duties
• Assist in setting up classes, events and retreats including shopping for necessary supplies as needed.
• Provide communications for the faith formation through organized mailings, email correspondences, and postings in the parish bulletins.
• Work with the Pastor and Parochial Vicar for the Hispanic community to ensure the information is distributed.
• Recruit catechists/volunteers
• Create and review upcoming lessons, and send them out to catechists weekly
• Share weekly lesson plans with DRE for review/critique/praise of hard work
• Regularly communicate with parents about student progress
• Record class attendance during every class
• Record Mass Attendance
• Set up and collect supplies needed
• Shop for supplies
• Review and evaluate curriculum
• Keep up with catechists for "Safe-Environment" training (CMG Connect)
• Meet with Faith Formation team to review/plan
• Address parent issues/concerns
• Address catechist concerns
• Set up tables and chairs weekly
• Elicit information from catechists and evaluate how things are going
• Update and keep enrollment emergency book that lists a copy of each student's health information/email/phone number
• Make copies of agendas/lessons for substitutes
• Make copies of handouts/activities for weekly lessons for catechists
• Attend staff development/continuing education/diocesan meetings
• Oversee summer intensive program with all the same duties
• Keep aware of and collaborate with all Faith Formation staff members about issues/concerns/calendars
• Have excellent communication skills through all aspects of communication re: email/text/firsthand verbal
• Always maintain and present the Catholic identity
• Remain true to Catholic Theology/Social Teaching/Values

QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
Bi-Lingual (Spanish)
BA Degree in Religious Education, Catechesis, Theology or a related field or 2 years of experience in a related field.
Must be a practicing Catholic in good standing with the church.
Ability to lead and conduct oneself in a professional manner that is reflective of church teachings.
Strong, clear, and effective verbal and written communication skills.
General computer skills; Excel; Word; Outlook
Candidate must be extremely thorough and organized.

ADDITIONAL NOTES
Hours: 29 hours per week. Some weeks will need to work longer hours due to increased work load during registration and sacramental times and work fewer hours in slower times of the year. There will be events and programs that will require work to be completed on weekend or evenings.
