ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES Under the direction of the Director for Religious Education, the Middle School FF Coordinator is responsible for overseeing the facilitation of Middle School Faith Formation and Youth Groups; assisting religious education staff with summer programs (SIP and Totus Tuus) and overall religious education initiatives that support the comprehensive religious education pastoral plan. This hands-on position will require set office hours along with weeknights and weekend requirements. • Recruit catechists/volunteers • Create and review upcoming lessons, and send them out to catechists weekly • Share weekly lesson plans with DRE for review/critique/praise of hard work • Keep in mind that this is an interactive program more creativity, set-up, and visuals • Write out and practice proclaim (whole group teaching for each class) • Create, guide, and/or lead retreats for Confirmation candidates and youth in cooperation with the Pastor and Director, Religious Education. • Coordinate and assist with parish-wide Youth Retreats, Justice and Service Projects, Youth Leadership, and off-campus activities. • Assists in the planning and overseeing of the youth ministry budget. • Prepare small group questions and activities • Regularly communicate with parents about student progress • Record class attendance during every class • Record Mass Attendance • Set up and collect supplies needed • Build and maintain a relationship with the Diocesan Office of Youth Ministry. • Shop for supplies • Review and evaluate curriculum • Keep up with catechists for "Safe-Environment" training (CMG Connect) • Coordinate snacks with parents/volunteers • Meet with Faith Formation team to review/plan • Address parent issues/concerns • Address catechist concerns • Set up tables and chairs weekly • Elicit information from catechists and evaluate how things are going • Update and keep enrollment emergency book that lists a copy of each student's health information/email/phone number • Make copies of agendas/lessons for substitutes • Make copies of handouts/activities for weekly lessons for catechists • Attend staff development/continuing education/diocesan meetings • Oversee summer intensive program with all the same duties • Keep aware of and collaborate with all Faith Formation staff members about issues/concerns/calendars • Have excellent communication skills through all aspects of communication re: email/text/firsthand verbal • Always maintain and present the Catholic identity • Remain true to Catholic Theology/Social Teaching/Values QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS • Must be a practicing Catholic in good standing with the church. • Ability to lead and conduct oneself in a professional manner that is reflective of church teachings. • Strong, clear and effective verbal and written communication skills. • Knowledgeable of the Catholic teachings. • Some college or relevant experience.
