A Preschool Catholic School Teacher is responsible for fostering the intellectual, social, physical, and spiritual development of young children in a nurturing and faith-based learning environment. You will create a safe and stimulating classroom that integrates Catholic teachings and values into daily activities and lessons.
Responsibilities: Develop and implement creative lesson plans that align with the school's curriculum and NYS Next Generation Early Childhood Learning Standards and Diocesan Religion standards. Integrate Catholic faith and traditions into daily activities, such as prayer, Bible stories, and celebrating religious holidays. Provide instruction in basic skills like letter and number recognition, colors, shapes, and social skills. Organize and lead a variety of engaging activities such as storytelling, arts and crafts, music, and age-appropriate games. Observe and assess children's progress, identifying any developmental or behavioral concerns. Maintain accurate and complete records of student progress. Communicate effectively with parents and guardians about their child's development. Maintain a clean, safe, and organized classroom environment. Collaborate with colleagues and school administration. Participate in professional development opportunities.
Qualifications: Master's degree or working towards Master's degree in Early Childhood Education or a related field. Valid NYS Teaching Certification Experience working with preschool-aged children is preferred. Strong understanding of child development. Excellent communication, interpersonal, classroom management, and organizational skills. Ability to create a warm, nurturing, and positive learning environment. Patience, flexibility, and a love of working with young children.
