OVERVIEW Provide courteous and professional services to donors by assisting at the dock with their donations, processing the donations, and stocking the items to ensure the success of the SVdP mission.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Receiver-Donation Attendant: • Presents a professional, clean appearance and provides courteous service to all customers and donors • Responds quickly to bell for customer service needed at dock • Assists customers lifting the donated items and provides receipt • Utilizes resources to assist with heavy lifting, such as hand truck, electric forklift (must be certified) or other staff to help • Assists drivers with unloading of large and heavy donated items and with loading of items for recycling or delivery • Go on the truck as a fill in truck helper when needed • Fills the table for the housewares sorter • Priority-Keep all workstations full of unsorted product to sort • Empty trash at all workstations • Break down cardboard and take to dumpster • Load and bail clothing as needed • Keep outside area clean • Sweep and clean your work area nightly • Follows pricing guidelines to properly mark items for sale- as needed • Responsible for staging of product in and out of backroom • Always take a 30-minute lunch break • Clock in and out when working • Brings items out to floor for display and stocking • Assists customers loading items in vehicles • Other duties as assigned
SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIREMENTS • Knowledge of: o Reading comprehension (Intermediate level) o Oral and written communication to wide and varied audiences o Customer service o Follow directions o Works on multiple projects at once in fast-paced environment o Attention to detail o Works a flexible schedule • Physical: o Frequently lift and /or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift up to 100 pounds o Regularly required to stand o Occasionally required to sit; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl o Occasionally works near moving mechanical parts, if applicable o Occasionally works in high precarious places o Occasionally exposed to outdoor weather conditions
