The Director of Social Services should be a practicing Catholic who wholeheartedly wants to see the kingdom of Jesus manifest in the hearts of all people, especially the poor, and who lives Christ's love through action. Additionally, this person should believe and profess all that the Holy Catholic Church believes, teaches, and proclaims as revealed by God.
The Director of Social services should possess the following skills and qualities:
-Excellent at networking, identifying, and recruiting a broad base of volunteers for the various ministries in social services.
-Find it easy and delightful to work with and alongside people from a variety of different walks of life (socio-economic, racial, religious, age, etc).
-a high social EQ
-Comfortable and proficient in administrative tasks and organization
-Fundraising
-Competent in basic financial reports to the parish finance council.
Director of Social Services will maintain and grow the following ministries:
-Oversee Food Pantry organization and distribution
-Provide Utility assistance for prospective clients
-Oversee distribution of Eucharist to the homebound
-Maintain and build volunteers for St. Peter's community garden
-Oversee Thanksgiving and Christmas food drives
-Organize parish Blood donation events
-Maintain, build, and develop relationships with new and existing donors
-Maintain, build and develop relationships with other organizations (i.e. Harvesters) who are considered vital contributors to the success of the ministry.
