    Job Summary:

    The Director of the Residential Care Home assists the Daughters of St. Paul in promoting the Gospel message by providing overall leadership, administration, and strategic direction for the Residential Care Home. The Director of the Residential Care Home is responsible for ensuring high-quality, compassionate, and compliant care that supports the physical, emotional, social, and spiritual well-being of the Sisters in harmony with the mission, values, and charism of the Daughters of St. Paul. The Director oversees all operational, clinical coordination, staffing, and regulatory aspects of the Residential Care Home, including nursing services, the PACE program, activities, government benefits administration, housekeeping, and food services. This role requires strong leadership, collaborative management, and a deep respect for religious life and the community living of the Daughters of St. Paul. The Director provides strategic and administrative oversight of clinical operations through the Working Supervisor of Nursing.

    Job Responsibilities:

    Leadership & Administration

    1. Provide overall leadership and direction for the Residential Care Home, fostering a culture of dignity, respect, accountability, and compassionate service.

    2. Translate congregational mission, values, and policies into daily operations and long-term planning.

    3. Develop and implement strategic, operational, and quality-improvement plans for the RCH.

    4. Serve as the primary liaison with congregational leadership, external partners, regulatory agencies, healthcare providers, and Working Supervisor of Nursing.

    5. Ensures that appropriate clinical, safety, and quality-of-care systems are in place through the Working Supervisor of Nursing to support the health, dignity, and well-being of the Sisters.

    6. Ensures staffing schedules are developed and maintained by the Working Supervisor of Nursing.

    7. Co-Responsible for ensuring full coverage of LPNs, CNAs, and HHAs on all shifts.

    Staffing & Human Resources Oversight

    1. Oversee staffing operations for the RCH, ensuring appropriate coverage, skill mix, and compliance with state and federal regulations.

    2. Supports the Supervisor of Nurses, a key leadership role

    3. Supervise and support key leadership roles, including:

    o Activities Coordinator

    o Government Programs Specialist

    o Supervisors for Housekeeping and Food Services (directly or indirectly)

    4. Together with the Working Supervisor of Nursing, ensure effective recruitment, onboarding, training, performance evaluation, and retention of staff.

    5. Promote a collaborative and respectful work environment across clinical and non-clinical teams.

    6. Conduct monthly Residential Care Home departmental meetings to support communication, leadership alignment, and program development.

    7. Ensure that personnel are familiar with fire drill regulations, procedures, and the disaster plan. Is responsible for maintaining and updating staff on safety and OSHA regulations that relate to the healthcare areas under her direction.

    8. Reviews all accidents relating to Infirmary Sisters or nursing personnel and investigates opportunities to prevent further instances of a similar nature. Ensures that all required OSHA accident forms are completed and submitted to the HR Office.

    9. Works with administration to maintain compliance to federal, state, and local regulations for the facility.

    10. In situations where adequate staffing coverage cannot be secured, the Director may, when available, provide temporary clinical support to ensure continuity of care for the Sisters. This support is intended as an exceptional measure and does not replace the Working Supervisor of Nursing's role in coordinating daily staffing needs, while the Director maintains overall responsibility for ensuring appropriate staffing levels.

    Clinical & Care Coordination Oversight

    1. Provide administrative oversight of clinical services through the Working Supervisor of Nursing.

    2. Ensure coordinated care and communication among RNs, LPNs, CNAs, HHAs, and transport aides.

    3. Support person-centered care planning that respects the Sisters' medical, emotional, spiritual, and communal needs.

    4. Monitor quality of care, safety practices, and resident satisfaction.

    PACE Program Oversight

    1. Oversee the implementation and ongoing management of the PACE (Program of All-Inclusive Care for the Elderly) program.

    2. Coordinate with PACE providers to ensure seamless integration with RCH services.

    3. Monitor outcomes, compliance requirements, and resident participation.

    4. Identify opportunities to enhance care delivery through the PACE model.

    Activities & Community Life

    1. Oversee the Activities Coordinator to ensure meaningful, age-appropriate, and mission-aligned programming.

    2. Support activities that promote physical health, cognitive engagement, social connection, and spiritual life.

    3. Encourage community participation and resident input into programming.

    Government Programs & Regulatory Compliance

    1. Collaborates with the Government Programs Specialist in managing benefits and coverage, including Medicare, Medicaid/MassHealth, and related programs.

    2. Attends monthly meetings with the MARCH (MA Residential Care Homes) Program on Zoom.

    3. Ensure compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local regulations governing residential care homes.

    4. Prepare for and participate in inspections, audits, and surveys.

    5. Maintain accurate documentation, policies, and procedures.

    Facilities, Housekeeping & Food Services

    1. Provide oversight of housekeeping and food service operations to ensure a safe, clean, and welcoming environment.

    2. Ensure nutritional services meet residents' dietary, medical, and cultural needs.

    3. Collaborate with facilities and maintenance personnel as applicable to address safety and infrastructure needs.

    Financial & Operational Management

    1. Participate in budget development and financial oversight for the RCH.

    2. Monitor expenses, staffing costs, and resource utilization.

    3. Ensures systems are in place for the procurement and availability of necessary supplies and equipment to support safe and effective care.

    4. Verifies all invoices received and submits them to Provincial Accounting for payment.

    5. Seek efficiencies while maintaining quality and mission-centered care.

    6. Review contracts and vendor relationships related to healthcare, food service, and facilities.

    Qualifications & Experience

    Required Qualifications

    Bachelor's degree in healthcare administration, nursing, social work, gerontology, business administration, or a related field.

    Minimum of 5-7 years of progressive leadership experience in residential care, long-term care, assisted living, or a related healthcare setting.

    Demonstrated experience overseeing multidisciplinary teams, including clinical and support staff.

    Knowledge of Massachusetts healthcare regulations and long-term care requirements.

    Strong organizational, communication, and leadership skills.

    Preferred Qualifications

    Master's degree in healthcare administration, nursing, public health, or a related field.

    Experience working with religious communities or mission-driven, faith-based organizations.

    Familiarity with PACE programs and government healthcare benefits.

    Clinical background (RN or equivalent) is an asset but not required.
