OVERVIEW
The Director of Innovation ("Director") is a key leadership role at Central Catholic High School ("CCHS" or "school"), responsible for advancing forward-looking strategies that enhance teaching and learning, strengthen operations, and align with the school's mission and vision. The Director fosters a culture of creativity and continuous improvement while overseeing the Information Technology ("IT") and Academic Technology teams. This role works in close partnership with the Assistant Principal for Teaching and Learning, ensuring that innovation and technology strategies are aligned with curriculum and instructional goals. The Director is part of the leadership team and reports directly to the President.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Innovation & Strategic Leadership
* Partner with the Assistant Principal for Teaching and Learning to align innovation strategies with instructional priorities.
* Develop and implement innovative programs, practices, and technologies that enhance student learning and engagement.
* Monitor educational and industry trends to identify opportunities that support the school's mission and future readiness.
* Lead and evaluate pilot projects, scaling successful initiatives.
* Provides for the selection, training, evaluation, supervision, mentorship and support of the IT and Academic Technology teams, providing strategic direction while empowering managers to oversee daily operations.
* Foster collaboration across departments to ensure innovation supports both academics and operations.
Collaboration, Community & Culture
* Serve on the Academic Advisory Committee and Leadership Team.
* Partner with administrators, faculty, and staff to advance innovative practices and technologies.
* Build external partnerships with educational, industry, and community organizations.
* Champion a culture of creativity, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
Project, Change & Technology Management
* Plan and oversee major innovation projects in collaboration with school leadership.
* Develop project plans with timelines, milestones, and success metrics.
* Coordinate with cross-functional teams (e.g., Facilities, Administration) to ensure initiatives are implemented effectively and aligned with school goals.
* Set the strategic direction for technology integration in academics and operations.
* Collaborate with school leadership to develop and manage the technology budget.
* Provide guidance on major technology purchases while delegating procurement to IT managers.
Data, Reporting & Professional Development
* Use data and analytics to assess initiatives and guide decision-making.
* Report regularly to the President on the progress and outcomes of innovation initiatives, and provide updates to the Principal and Board of Directors as appropriate.
* Partner with the Assistant Principal for Teaching and Learning to co-design professional development that promotes innovative teaching practices.
* Mentor faculty and administrators in integrating innovation into classrooms and school operations.
Other duties as assigned that are consistent with the foregoing responsibilities and objectives.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
* Master's degree in Educational Leadership, Information Technology, Business, or a related field (required).
* Seven (7) or more years of leadership experience in education, technology, or organizational innovation.
* Proven ability to lead teams, manage budgets, and oversee strategic initiatives.
* Experience guiding technology strategy and innovation, with strong project management skills.
* Extensive experience with educational technology platforms and emerging EdTech tools that enhance teaching, learning, and operations.
* Excellent communication and collaboration skills; able to work effectively with faculty, staff, parents, students, and external partners.
* Strong data-driven decision-making and problem-solving abilities.
* Commitment to the mission and values of Central Catholic High and the Marist philosophy.
* Possess a high level of professionalism, confidentiality and integrity.
* Citizenship, residency or work visa required.
