Position Summary: The Campus Ministry Director is responsible for the development, planning and implementation of all activities and programs for Chaminade University of Honolulu related to the spiritual development and growth of students. Reports to: Vice President for Mission and Rector. Full-time, 12 month exempt position.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities Develop and implement a Campus Ministry program which will provide opportunities for the formation of faith in students Plan and execute activities and programs related to the spiritual development and growth of students Expand the reach of Campus Ministry by maintaining regular and purposeful contact with all students with particular outreach to students who are not active in Campus Ministry, commuter students, and students in residence halls. Particular attention is given to student athletes and the students in the School of Nursing. Mentor approximately one-third to one-half of the Chaminade Scholars participating in the Chaminade Scholars program Provide one-on-one guidance for students as needed Supervise the staff of the Campus Ministry office including Assistant Campus Minister, Administrative Assistant, student workers and volunteers Manage the department budget Undertake the duties of the Assistant Campus Minister and Administrative Assistant when they are not available Conduct regular team meetings Attend regularly scheduled and special university meetings including, but not limited to, Hui Konohiki and relevant meetings with the University Board of Regents Lead prayers at various campus events and conduct other public speaking engagements Approve time cards and time off requests from for supervised employees Oversee the Sunday liturgies at Mystical Rose Oratory in concert with the chaplain of MRO.
Minimum Education and Experience: Master's Degree in Religious Studies, Theology, Religious Education, Pastoral Ministry or a comparable degree and a demonstrated ability to incorporate Catholic tradition into ministry. Practicing Roman Catholic. Experience with planning liturgies (Eucharist, prayer services) and coordinating various liturgical ministers (musicians, priests, readers, extraordinary Eucharistic ministers, etc.) is essential. Experience in a leadership position, including supervising others.
