Position: Student Support Coordinator
Start Date: August 2025 (Full-time permanent)
Hiring Range: $60,000 to $70,000 depending on qualifications and experience
About Us:
Royal Palm Academy is a joyful, vibrant, independent, and family-oriented Catholic PK-8 school located in beautiful Naples, Florida. Committed to academic excellence and spiritual growth, we partner with families to provide a rich educational experience grounded in Catholic values.
The Opportunity:
Royal Palm Academy is seeking a full-time Student Support Coordinator to begin the 2025-2026 school year. This is a permanent, salaried position offering competitive compensation and benefits. We are seeking a collaborative, service-oriented educator who is passionate about supporting both students and teachers and who can play a central role in strengthening our academic support, classroom differentiation, and parent communication efforts.
Position Overview:
This role is not a traditional special education or learning plan coordinator role. As an independent Catholic school, Royal Palm Academy does not accept IEPs and does not have a large student support staff. Instead, this role is designed to support teachers in addressing a wide range of student learning needs within our general education program.
The Student Support Coordinator will act as a highly motivated team player and communication hub between teachers, parents, and administrators-ensuring that each child's academic journey is supported with care, clarity, and consistency. This position will also coordinate our limited accommodations (e.g., extra time, preferential seating), assist with basic diagnostics or academic testing to help identify student needs, and provide guidance to help teachers effectively differentiate instruction for both struggling and high-performing students.
Key Responsibilities:
Embrace and uphold the mission, philosophy, and values of Royal Palm Academy
Coordinate and support academic interventions and enrichment for students who benefit from differentiated instruction or additional challenge
Collaborate with teachers to identify student needs and assist in developing practical classroom strategies to support all learners
Guide communication between teachers and parents regarding academic support strategies, and serve as a key contact for "high-touch" parent cases
Assist in developing and maintaining clear, concise student support plans when appropriate (within the scope of general education accommodations)
Administer and interpret basic diagnostic tools and academic screeners to help identify areas of growth
Provide professional development and coaching to teachers on effective differentiation techniques and student support practices
Serve as a key resource and liaison for the administrative team in all matters related to student support and parent engagement
Model and promote a spirit of joyful collaboration, professionalism, and servant leadership
Work with leadership to implement a consistent process for referring, tracking, and monitoring students who require additional support or enrichment
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Education or related field
Minimum of 3 years of teaching or academic support experience in a K-8 school setting
Strong understanding of instructional strategies, student development, and classroom differentiation
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with teachers, administrators, and families
Strong organizational skills and an ability to manage multiple responsibilities independently
Passion for Catholic education and the integral formation of the whole child
Preferred Qualifications:
5 or more years of experience as a teacher or academic support in a K-8 school setting
Experience in Catholic or independent schools
Background in reading intervention, math intervention, enrichment education, or academic diagnostics
Familiarity with MAP Growth or other academic screening tools
General understanding of how to interpret psychoeducational evaluations and use findings to support classroom practices (even if not formally writing plans)
Physical and Other Demands:
Ability to work in a fast-paced and highly interactive school environment
Capable of moving throughout a PK-8 school campus and assisting in classrooms when needed
Ability to maintain confidentiality and professional boundaries in all interactions
Comfortable managing email and communication flow with multiple stakeholders
