    Description

    We are looking for someone who is in love with Jesus, has a good theological foundation in his/her understanding of the world, the Church, and the parish, and is on fire with the faith in a way that is healthy and attractive to others. This person knows how to share the faith in a relational way and is a person whose ministry is primarily the building up of relationships with others. This person would make a good friend to staff, parishioners, and especially teens. This person sees himself/herself as integrated into our parish, and begins to make our parish his/her home. This person knows Jesus on a personal level and is able to give testimony to that relationship. He/she knows how to organize, plan, and run youth groups and small groups, and is not programmatic but can make adjustments based on prayer, feedback and an ability to read the crowd. He/she is creative and able to draw the youth in the parish closer to Jesus as well as teach OCIT classes. This person truly cares about others and knows how to deal well with conflict. He/she works well with others and is able to take direction from the director of religious education.

    Requirements:
    Not someone who is totally new to youth ministry, but has experience working with teens and adults in a parish environment.

    Responsibilities:
    -Know and pray for volunteers and youth
    -Inspire volunteers: giving volunteers a way to see what they are doing in the context of all of -Salvation History, and that what they are doing is important because the Holy Spirit is breathing into it
    -Equip volunteers for success in forming youth in the faith
    -Care for the needs of the volunteers in practical and tangible ways
    -Plan and execute youth events
    -Plan and execute OCIT events
    -Communicate with volunteers, adults and teens regarding the youth of the parish

    Our parish environment:
    A community of God's people walking with Him and each other, and drawing others to the same
    Ministries becoming centered around the Sacraments and flowing from them and to them
    10,000 parishioners
    PreK-8 school

    Physical requirements:
    Frequent communication with others, walking, standing, sitting, bending, operating standard office equipment, public speaking

    The employee is expected to be a practicing Catholic in good standing, faithful to the magisterium of the Roman Catholic Church, and an active member of a parish. They are expected to conduct themselves according to the teaching, goals and mission of the Church, modeling Christian virtues in every aspect of their lives. Every employee must undergo a background check and training regarding diocesan standards.

    Sunday through Thursday with frequent evenings
