Position Summary
We are seeking a mission-driven Creative Video Associate to shape and produce compelling video content that communicates the heart of Real Life Catholic. The ideal candidate brings strong creative vision, developing ideas into stories that inspire while working through the full process from filming to editing. This role balances imagination with execution, ensuring each project is both visually excellent and deeply impactful in sharing the Catholic faith.
Key Responsibilities
Capture visually compelling video that drives views, retention, and subscribers
Apply motion graphics, sound design, music, color correction, and visual effects to enhance production value.
Edit and optimize videos for pacing, engagement, and retention in line with YouTube algorithms.
Stay current on Catholic culture, events, YouTube content trends, and evolving editing techniques.
Translate creative objectives into intentional and compelling finished videos utilizing both cinematography skills and advanced editing techniques
Collaborate with the creative team to translate vision into strong visual narratives.
Maintain disciplined media management, camera care, and on-set troubleshooting.
Skills/Qualifications
5+ years of professional editing experience for YouTube/social media platforms (long-form experience required), with proven ability to create amazing content
Strong instincts for storytelling, pacing, timing, and audience retention
Exceptional organization skills for media and project management
Proven understanding of YouTube content strategy, analytics, and optimization
Ability to balance multiple projects and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
Passion for faith-based content and a deep understanding of the Catholic faith and culture
Expert-level proficiency with Adobe editing tools, including Premiere Pro, After Effects, and related software to bring a video to completion. Proficiency in DaVinci Resolve is a plus
Highly detail-oriented, both artistically and technically, with a drive for excellence
Collaborative, mission-driven, and passionate about storytelling in a Catholic context
Please note:
Some evening/weekend work probable, especially related to video production, filming and editing schedule
Significant overnight travel required for video shoots during large productions
