Position Summary The Director of Alumni Development leads Holy Cross High School's alumni engagement and alumni philanthropy efforts. This role builds lifelong relationships with alumni to strengthen participation, leadership giving, and long-term institutional pride.
The position focuses on developing a strong alumni pipeline that supports the increase of both annual and major gift fundraising and ensures alumni remain meaningfully connected to the mission of Holy Cross. Expanding alumni outreach through multi-platform options is key to the success of this position.
PLEASE NOTE: this is a full time, on-site position. No remote work due to the nature of this position.
Primary Responsibilities Alumni Engagement Strategy Develop and implement a comprehensive alumni engagement plan Build meaningful connections across generations of alumni Strengthen alumni identity and affinity for the school and expand alumni engagement and connections across all alumni generations. Focus on building younger alumni (past 30 years) programs and strategies for reconnection to Holy Cross Establish and manage a volunteer and class agent program
Annual Giving Oversee annual giving solicitation process Increase alumni participation in the Annual Fund Develop leadership giving opportunities within the alumni community Identify and qualify alumni major gift prospects Manage a portfolio of alumni donors
Events & Programs Plan and oversee Alumni Reunions, Career Day and engagement events Plan and oversee the Hall of Fame Dinner Plan other events as determined and assigned by VPA, including out of town/state alumni gatherings and networking events
Communications Partner with Communications Director on alumni storytelling Assist in coordinating newsletters, digital content, and alumni updates Highlight alumni impact and school achievements
Pipeline Development Track alumni engagement and giving metrics Support prospect research and donor movement Ensure alumni/donor records are maintained and entered accurately (within the scope of this position) Collaborate with Admissions and Student Life to strengthen future alumni affinity Assist as needed with donor gift entry and acknowledgement as directed by VPA
Required/Preferred Qualifications: Bachelor's degree required. One to two (1-2) years of relevant experience in Alumni relations, Advancement, communications, engagement, or a related field required. Demonstrated relationship-building and communication skills Experience supporting events, volunteer programs, or donor engagement initiatives strongly preferred. Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple projects, taking direction and managing outside support such as students, volunteers, vendors, etc. Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for extended periods of time Comfort interacting with alumni, parents, and donors Experience in an independent or Catholic school environment preferred Working knowledge of budgets and experience with all MS Office Suite applications Working knowledge of CRMs such as Raisers Edge and DonorPerfect strongly preferred, as well as knowledge of Constant Contact broadcast email system Please Note: there are evening and weekend events throughout the year for which this position will be required to work/manage as part of their daily responsibilities as an exempt employee. Salary/Applying: $75,000 - $80,000 commensurate with experience.
