    Office Manager (Part-time)

    Position Overview
    Verso Ministries is seeking a detail-oriented, highly organized Part-Time Business Manager to support the financial, administrative, and human resource functions of the organization. This role ensures the smooth day-to-day operations of the office and provides essential support to internal teams through strong financial stewardship, administrative coordination, and operational oversight. This is an ideal role for someone who thrives in creating and maintaining processes, enjoys managing details, and takes ownership of key business functions in a mission-driven organization.

    Key Responsibilities
    80% Accounting & Bookkeeping
    Responsible for maintenance of the the general ledger including daily transaction processing, bank, cash and credit card reconciliations
    Manage shared accounting inbox and respond to financial inquiries
    Process invoices, cash requests, and employee reimbursement requests
    Record all accounting entries and accounts receivable, including tracking and reconciliation
    Administer all functions of payroll for an 11 person team including payroll processing and maintain payroll records, benefits deductions, and related tax documentation.
    Maintain financial logs (e.g., Stripe transactions) and ensure accuracy of records
    Support check and payment processing, including issuing and depositing checks and payments to vendors.
    Generating invoices as requested and overseeing A/R and A/P aging reports.
    Assist with improving accounting workflows, internal controls, and financial processes to support a growing organization.

    10% Human Resources Support
    Post job descriptions and assist with recruiting coordination
    Support onboarding and general HR administrative processes
    Help maintain employee records and documentation

    10% Administrative & Office Operations
    Provide general administrative oversight to support team effectiveness
    Order and manage office supply inventory (including potential pilgrim materials)
    Maintain organization of office systems, including key oversight
    Coordinate team logistics such as all team meetings, gatherings, and internal events
    Assist in planning team and staff celebrations (birthdays, anniversaries, etc.)

    Qualifications
    Required:
    4-5+ years of experience in bookkeeping, accounting, or business administration
    Strong attention to detail and high level of accuracy
    Excellent organizational and time management skills
    Ability to manage multiple priorities and follow through independently
    Strong communication skills and a collaborative mindset
    Commitment to exceptional customer service and hospitality
    Alignment with the mission and values of the Catholic Church

    Preferred:
    Proficiency in Google Workspace and Microsoft Office (especially Google Sheets/Excel)
    Experience in ministry, travel, or hospitality environments
    Experience with CRM systems or data management tools
    Experience with financial systems and tools (e.g., QuickBooks, Stripe, or similar) preferred

    Schedule & Expectations
    Part-time role (anticipated 20-25 hours per week on average with potentially higher prior to major events)
    In-person work required at the South Bend office
    Some flexibility in schedule, with daily consistency preferred
