Location: Remote Position Type: Full-Time 1099 Contractor Reports To: Director of Media and Marketing Position Overview The Social Media Content Creator is responsible for capturing, creating, and publishing compelling digital content that advances the mission of Encounter Ministries: forming disciples in the power of the Holy Spirit. This role exists to attract, engage, and move people through a journey-from first discovery to deeper formation-primarily through social media platforms. The ideal candidate is both creative and mission-aligned, with an eye for storytelling, an understanding of digital growth strategy, and a sensitivity to communicating spiritual topics with clarity and authenticity.
Key Responsibilities 1. Content Creation & Storytelling Capture and produce short-form and long-form video content (Reels, YouTube, clips) Create engaging posts featuring: Healing testimonies Teaching clips (talks, sermons, conferences) Event promotions Student experiences and transformation stories Translate live ministry moments into compelling digital content Maintain a consistent visual and narrative style aligned with brand identity
2. Social Media Growth & Engagement Publish and manage content across platforms (Instagram, Facebook, YouTube) Write captions that drive: Engagement (comments, shares) Spiritual curiosity and openness Event attendance and next steps Monitor comments and messages, identifying opportunities for engagement or follow-up Identify trends and adapt content style without compromising mission
3. Funnel Awareness & Strategic Content Create content intentionally aligned with the ministry's growth journey: Discover: Viral or shareable content (testimonies, powerful clips) Engage: Event highlights, behind-the-scenes, community moments Align: Deeper teaching content that speaks to transformation Connect: Content that invites action (events, school applications, next steps)
4. Event & Campaign Support Capture content at conferences, healing services, and schools Produce pre-event, live-event, and post-event content Collaborate with marketing to support campaigns and promotions Turn key moments into reusable content assets
5. Collaboration & Execution Work closely with the Media Director and team Coordinate with: Event teams Speakers Marketing and CRM workflows (lead generation awareness) Organize and maintain a content library of footage and assets
Qualifications Required Experience creating content for social media (especially video) Proficiency with tools like: Adobe Premiere / Final Cut / CapCut (or equivalent) Strong understanding of: Short-form video trends Platform algorithms (Instagram, YouTube, Facebook) Ability to tell a compelling story visually and emotionally
Preferred Experience working in ministry or faith-based environments Familiarity with charismatic / Catholic context Basic understanding of marketing funnels and audience targeting Photography and/or live event capture experience
