Brilla Public Charter Schools is a K-8 network serving nearly 1,600 students in the Bronx, with plans to grow to 4,000 students. Brilla combines classical education-focused on virtue, Truth, Beauty, and Goodness-with modern instructional practices and individualized learning. The network prioritizes academic excellence, character formation, and a joyful, dignified community.
About El Camino
El Camino ("The Way") is a Catholic after-school program partnered with Brilla schools that supports faith formation, character development, and academic growth. Since 2013, over 260 children have been baptized through the program.
Serving ~40% of Brilla students, El Camino provides homework help, catechism, physical activity, and opportunities for prayer and family engagement.
About the Role: Director of Programs
This role leads program strategy, systems, and outcomes across a campus. Reporting to the Network Director of Programs, the Director oversees El Camino and supervises Seton Teaching Fellows, ensuring strong collaboration between programs and alignment with Brilla.
The Director coaches Fellows, manages operations, supports family engagement, and serves as a key liaison across teams.
Key Responsibilities
Instructional Leadership
Coach and develop Seton Teaching Fellows Support catechesis curriculum implementation Lead observations, feedback, and professional development Analyze student performance data to drive improvement
People Management
Hire, onboard, and manage program staff Conduct regular check-ins and performance evaluations Build strong relationships with families, staff, and students
Program Management
Oversee logistics, scheduling, and daily execution Lead family engagement and events Ensure program quality, culture, and alignment Serve as liaison across Brilla, STF, and El Camino
Qualifications
Practicing Catholic committed to Church teachings 3+ years of teaching experience with strong results 1+ year in program operations or administration Strong organizational, communication, and leadership skills Bachelor's degree required Ability to travel 10-20%
Preferred:
Bilingual (English/Spanish) Experience with data, event planning, or social media
Compensation
Salary range: $85,000-$90,000 plus benefits.
