Schedule: Tuesday-Thursday, approximately 8:00 AM - 12:00 PM (Some flexibility required to attend occasional evening parish meetings)
Position Summary
St. Mary's Catholic Church is seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Part-Time Parish Secretary to support the daily operations of the parish office. This individual will serve as a welcoming presence for parishioners and visitors while assisting with administrative, communication, and parish coordination tasks.
Key Responsibilities • Greet parishioners and visitors in a friendly and professional manner • Answer phones and respond to general inquiries • Assist with preparation of the weekly bulletin and parish communications • Maintain parish records and perform data entry • Process mail, email, and general correspondence • Provide administrative support including filing, document preparation, and scheduling • Support sacramental recordkeeping and other parish documentation • Prepare meeting agendas in coordination with parish leadership • Attend parish meetings as needed and accurately record meeting minutes • Distribute meeting materials and follow up on assigned action items • Assist with general office tasks as assigned
Qualifications • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills • Basic proficiency with Microsoft Office and email • Ability to work independently and manage time effectively • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information • Prior administrative or office experience preferred
