The Director of Faith Formation leads, coordinates, and oversees religious education and catechetical programs for children, youth, and adults, ensuring alignment with Church teachings and diocesan guidelines. Core Responsibilities Leadership and Program Oversight: The Director administers and coordinates faith formation programs, including sacramental preparation for Reconciliation, First Holy Communion, and Confirmation, as well as ongoing religious education for preschool through high school students and adults. The Director develops annual calendars, plan curricula in compliance with diocesan standards, and oversees special programs such as summer catechetical initiatives. Volunteer and Staff Management: The Director supervises the other members of the Faith Formation Department. The Director recruits, trains, supervises, and evaluates catechists, program coordinators, and volunteers. They ensure all personnel complete required safe-environment training (e.g., VIRTUS) and maintain compliance with diocesan policies. Communication and Collaboration: Effective communication with parish staff, clergy, families, and school administrators is essential. Spiritual and Educational Qualifications: Candidates must be practicing Catholics in good standing, committed to ongoing spiritual and educational growth. Familiarity with catechetical models, youth ministry, and adult faith formation is required. Administrative Duties: The Director manages staff, budgets, acquires resources, negotiates space for programs, and ensures programs meet diocesan and parish standards. They also participate in policy development, goal-setting, and strategic planning for faith formation initiatives. And other duties as assigned. Community Engagement: Beyond classroom instruction, the Director engages families through "Faith at Home" resources and fosters participation in parish life.
