St. Mel's Catholic Academy is welcoming applications for the 2026-2027 school year.

The ideal candidate is a practicing Catholic, creative and passionate educator and team player. He/she will be expected to collaborate with parents, students and colleagues to foster academic, emotional and spiritual growth of our students. The candidate must be able to:
1. Develop, plan and teach developmentally appropriate lessons aligned to 21st Century skills and Next Generation Learning Standards
2. Effectively utilize student data and formative assessments to guide academic planning and instruction
3. Differentiate instruction using a variety of educational strategies to meet diverse student needs and learning styles.
4. Effectively assess student growth and areas of need.
5. Create a warm, safe, nurturing and supportive learning environment.
6. Effectively communicate/collaborate with colleagues and families.
7. Performs classroom administrative duties.
8. Participate in required and elective professional development
9. Support the academic, moral and spiritual growth of students
10. Be a role model for assignments in their faith formation in accordance with Catholic teachings and practices.

Minimum Qualifications:
1. Be a practicing Catholic committed to the the mission of Catholic Education.
2. Hold a Bachelor's degree or higher
3. Hold NYS teaching certification or eligible for certification

Salary is based on experience and educational degree.
